Siavash Jafari is a musician, instrument maker, and sound artist based in the Netherlands. As a violinist and bass guitar player, he has a background in classical music and progressive metal music. Before moving to the Netherlands, he has been active as a violin player in several classical and contemporary music orchestras such as AISO (Austro-Iranian Symphonic Orchestra), and Nilper Orchestra. Currently he is a member of Frikam progressive metal band assuming various responsibilities, such as bass player, violinist, sound designer, and artistic director.

Siavash’s interest in electronics intersects with his experience and knowledge in string instruments, lead him explore experimental instrument making. Since 2021, he has been developing the Misfit Harp, a modular electronic string instrument that allows him to experiment and create new techniques of manipulating string sounds.
