A compact self-built instrument developed for improvisation and used alongside Sustain Puppeteer in live work.
Misfit Box developed as a hands-on counterpart to the feedback-based string systems, keeping direct physical control available inside a more autonomous performance setup.
The instrument was built as a direct performance tool that could sit alongside Sustain Puppeteer, allowing live work to move between deliberate gestures and the more emergent behaviour of the string-feedback system.
Used in the live performance dialogue with Sustain Puppeteer and Farzaneh Nouri's Énacteur system.
