Synthetic Groans
An eight-channel fixed-media work exploring sound masses, unstable pitch movement and call-and-response — one of the compositional starting points that later led toward instrument invention.
Layered sustained sounds diverge from a shared pitch, moving through glissandi and changing relationships in space.
The need to perform this kind of material live — with improvisational freedom rather than a fixed recording — became a central motivation for developing the Sustain Puppeteer and Misfit Harp.

FRIKAM is a progressive rock/metal project founded in Tehran in 2017. Jafari joined in 2018, and the band's current work now extends across The Hague, Paris and Tehran.
The band is another side of the same musical practice: composition, guitar, recording and long-form collaborative work alongside the experimental instrument projects.
FRIKAM's current work includes the concept album The Grace Monkey, while the project continues to develop collaboratively between The Hague, Paris and Tehran.
Performance
The instruments are developed through performance: not as finished objects alone, but as evolving systems whose behaviour changes with routing, tuning and interaction.
